04/03/2013 Episode 134 - Dredd - Geek Review
On this week's GFR Carlos and Steve V. tackle last year's inexplicably unsuccessful Dredd reboot starring Star Trek's Karl Urban. This film had it all - perfect casting, attention to detail and faithfulness to the source material, and yet it failed. In fact, it did worse than the 1995 Stallone version (which Steve thought was ok, of course!) We do our best to make sense of it all!

03/20/2013 Episode 132 - James Bond Music - Part 2
On today's GFR Carlos and James continue their discussion of Bond music throughout Roger Moore's tenure. During this time we saw some big theme song hits like Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill" and McCartney's "Live and Let Die," to name two. But there was almost always the steady hand of John Barry to conduct the orchestra and give Bond that distinctive sound for so many years.
On this week's GFR it's almost all hands on deck as 5 of the Core 6 - Carlos, the Steves, Tony and Brian get together for a commentary on the granddaddy of all superhero flicks and something they all agree is a classic - Superman: The Movie! Will Man of Steel hold a candle to this wonderful film?
03/06/2013 Episode 130 - Fringe Series Finale
On this week's GFR bust out the licorice as Carlos, Tony and Steve V. all agree that Fringe was one of, if not (for one of the trio) the best sci-fi series ever. While the discussion will highlight the excellent series finale, they'll delve into their favorite characters, plotlines, story arcs and guest stars as well as whether or not they'd like to see these characters again someday!
This week on GFR, Carlos and James continue with Part 2 of their coverage of New York Toy Fair 2013 with an emphasis on Hasbro. 01/09/2013 Episode 122 - Prometheus Deleted Scenes
Ridley Scott's Prometheus was one of last year's most polarizing blockbusters, provoking extreme reactions from genre fans, including members of the GFR crew. Today, Carlos and Steve V. will discuss the many deleted scenes on the recent blu ray release as they continue debating the merits of the film. Discussions for a sequel are in the early stages (which Steve hopes will shed some light on the many plot holes he noticed!) At this stage, all we know for sure is that Damon Lindelof will not write it (which also makes Steve happy!)
On today's installment of GFR, Carlos and Steve V. discuss Hollywood's proclivity for rebooting, reimagining and remaking beloved franchises. Whether it's comics, sci-fi or television, the powers that be will never let a good thing die when dollar signs are involved! Weekends are traditionally quiet for series television (and you know you're finished if your show gets sent there) so here's a quick recap of shows that you probably won't be seeing for very long!
Friday nights are traditionally known as "The Death Slot" for television, but that never stopped TV junkies like Carlos and Steve from following their favorite shows there! In fact, there's plenty to talk about on Fridays, from old reliables Smallville and Supernatural to CSI:NY and Medium, as well as new CBS drama Blue Bloods.

Just in time for Halloween (ok so it's a day late..) Carlos and Steve (Laux, that is) discuss something really scary - The Walking Dead on AMC! Enough with those pretty teeny bopper loving vampires! You wanna see something really scary? (Besides Carlos without his shirt on!)
Thursday's a big night for television and both Carlos and Steve have plenty of returning old favorites. In this installment they discuss NBC's comedy block and Geeky favorites like Fringe and The Big Bang Theory. However, at no time will the words, "Grey's Anatomy" be spoken!
Carlos and Steve dissect Wednesday's line-up, talking about old standbys like Law and Order, ABC's comedy block of hits such as Modern Family and The Middle, and Carlos' only concession to reality TV, Survivor. Don't expect to hear much from Steve on the latter!
