As special effects continue to amaze us in films, today at GeekFest Rants, Carlos is digging deep into the modern achievements in the field of CGI face replacement technological advancements. We'll start around the time of Jurassic Park, move through Terminator 2, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Tron Legacy, Star Wars: Rogue One, and all the way to Logan. In our comic book segment we'll defrost the comic book adaptation of Who Goes There?, a great companion piece for any John Carpenter's The Thing fan.  And finally we'll take a look at a rare toy find, the Close Encounters of the Third Kind, 1978 box game; a real blast from the past.

Today on GeekFest Rants we have the unfortunate task of doing an unexpected tribute show on the passing of genre superstar Bill Paxton.  Join us today as we highlight his career from his early music video days, to his Roger Corman days, to his career changing collaborations with James Cameron, to genre character icon.  Today Carlos will discuss Paxton's best roles and how his shocking passing marks an end or an era for all of us in the nerd/geek community.
