What do War for the Planet of the Apes and Day of the Animals have in common? Absolutely nothing.  One is an excellent conclusion to an exciting sci-fi trilogy and the other is a schlock fest of B-movie magic that is actually good....for a laugh.  Today on GeekFest Rants we review both this very different films.  Will Andy Serkis finally get an Oscar nomination?  Or will Leslie Nielsen get a posthumous Oscar for his shirtless masterpiece?  Plus, we'll take a look at Carlos' collection of Ray Harryhausen stop motion vinyl figures.  Here is an economical way to collect and honor the grandfather of movie special effects.

Episode 313 - Spider-Man: Homecoming - Raiders Poster - Jedi 65 Backs

Today on GeekFest Rants we review the return of our favorite webslinger in Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Carlos and Kyle geek out over this new Marvel/Sony produced reboot of the iconic franchise, this time with much more Marvel flair.  Then we'll begin a new collecting focus:  movie poster collecting - our first entry, the 1982 Raiders of the Lost Ark re-release.  And finally we return to our happy place, Kenner Star Wars action figures.  Carlos will continue with his previous examination of vintage figures; this time around we start with the Return of the Jedi 65-backs line.  For Star Wars figure nerds they are as classic as they get.
