Does anyone remember a time when we had these things called toy stores?  Well, today on GeekFest Rants we travel back in time to our early days of toy collecting.  Join Carlos and Steve as they compare and contrast two somewhat different kinds of collecting backgrounds. From actual toy stores, to stores with a toy section, to online retail, online auctions, and beyond.   Just like there are generations that have not experienced 8-tracks, records, and cassettes, we will now have a generation that might never see a toy store.

Have you ever heard this term before?  We had not, until we listened to an episode of The Chive Cast and we started to notice a new trend in marketing Star Wars toys: appeal to Star Wars collectors by recreating vintage looking items.  Is this a money grab or a new, innovative way to  give collectors what they want?  Then we tackle the novel, The Exorcist.  Is it as good as the movie?  And what is the connection between this book and the classic TV cop, Detective Columbo?
